Highground helping with transition from the Forces to the fields

ARE YOU TRANSITIONING FROM THE MILITARY? INTERESTED IN THE LAND-BASED SECTOR? WONDERING WHAT TO DO NEXT? HIGHGROUND COULD BE FOR YOU!!

HighGround is tri-service. Our vision is Land-based opportunities available for all the Armed Forces community.  We welcome referrals from other service charities such as RFEA, WWtW, RBLI, H4H and Combat Stress and as our profile increases and more people find out about us via word of mouth and social media, we are getting more self-referrals too.

Every individual who is referred to HighGround or self-refers is at a different stage in their lives and our aim is to find out how we can help you as quickly as possible. Everyone we work with is looking towards the land-based sector. Some people know where they want to go, and just need some advice and introductions and they are on their way.

For others, the land-based sector offers so many opportunities for ex military people it’s hard to know where to start! For these people, a Rural Week could be the answer. 5 fully residential days at an agricultural college with 7 others who are all either currently serving, or have served to learn about what the land-based sector looks like, how your military skills and experience can map perfectly into it, what qualifications and training you will need and how to get there.

Rural Weeks are fully funded, and after a Rural Week which has helped you to decide what you want to do there are many follow-up options which we will help you with including training, work experience (we have a constantly expanding network of contacts throughout the UK and
abroad) and volunteering.

You can see examples of how HighGround is working with Service Leavers, Reservists and Veterans by looking at our Good News here.  Whether it’s our land-based advice service based at our office in Westminster or longer term support including a Rural Week, all referrals start the same way, with a telephone call and you guessed it, a form.
