The White Ensign Association - Visit to RNAS YEOVILTON
The President, Commodore Sir Donald Gosling and Members of Council and Staff visited RNAS Yeovilton on 22 and 23 April 2008.

Council Members with Commodore Chris Palmer
Following a warm welcome and Air Station presentation from the Commanding Officer, Commodore Chris Palmer, the Council Members were acquainted with the current operations of the Lynx Helicopter Force and the Commando Helicopter Force. These briefings delivered by Commander Amphlet and Commander Fox respectively were followed by an extensive visit programme which allowed Council Members to see the Fleet Air Arm at work and also to meet and chat with personnel from all areas of the Air Station.

The tour included visits to Air Traffic Control, 702 Naval Air Squadron, 846 Naval Air Squadron, the Chaplaincy, Lynx Simulator, Gymnasium and the new Single Living Accommodation. The council also visited the Fleet Air Arm Museum. In addition to meeting individuals in their work places, a very well attended all ranks buffet lunch was hosted by the Association in the Junior Rates Function Room to further provide an opportunity for other personnel to discuss their current concerns.

Throughout the visit Council Members were greeted most warmly by all those they met and were hugely impressed by the professionalism and commitment of the men and women serving at the Air Station. The President and Council of Management are most grateful to Commodore Palmer and his management team for making the visit possible and enjoyable.
