Objects

The current Objects of the Association are:

To assist and promote the interests of those who are serving or have at any time served in the Royal Navy, the Royal Marines, in any Royal Naval or Royal Marine Reserve, or in the former Women’s Royal Naval Service or Queen Alexandra’s Royal Naval Nursing Service in such ways as shall from time to time be thought fit, and in particular and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing by providing: 

(a)  general guidance in connection with investments, house purchase, insurance (including educational costs and school fees); pensions and commutation; 

(b)  information and advice to any such persons seeking to establish themselves in trade or business, and giving suitable introductions to, any such persons seeking employment in finance, commerce or industry;

(c)   general information and advice to those leaving the Service and seeking to settle in civilian life; and

(d)   information and advice on general personal administrative matters in suitable cases appropriate to the position and facilities of the Association.

In sum, the Association’s role embraces a wide range of personal advice and assistance available for all those serving as well as retired personnel and their dependants.  Assistance on all matters of personal finance is provided within the constraints of the Financial Services Act.  The Association provides guidance on a wide range of money matters including Service Pensions, with detailed advice being provided by a panel of professional advisors.  The range of help available covers most matters of personal administration and welfare.  The White Ensign Association Employment Services provide  a comprehensive range of help and advice for both those leaving the Naval Service and those having left who seek further employment. This service is augmented by our network of contacts within industry and commerce and by volunteer Mentors and Advisors.
