D-Day remembered

Onboard HMS Belfast today the flags of France, the USA, Canada and the UK have been hoisted alongside each other to commemorate the 79th anniversary of the D-Day landings. HMS Belfast was part of the naval armada which supported the largest amphibious assault in history and helped to turn the tide of the war. The WEA is privileged to support those sailors and marines who follow in the footsteps of those who served on that momentous day in June 1944. We are also privileged to call this iconic ship our home.

The signal flags read 'DDay79'.
