A Charity offering personal help and advice for all serving and former members of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, their Reserves and Families

The Chief Executive Officer of the WEA attended a presentation this week at HMS SULTAN where the Commanding Officer, Captain Peter Towell OBE, presented a cheque for £500 to the Association in recognition of the work that the charity undertakes both within the establishment and the wider naval service.  This hugely welcome donation was part of HMS SULTAN’s annual charity awards when the profitable proceeds of the annual HMS SULTAN summer show along with other fundraising campaigns, are distributed amongst local and service related good causes.  This year the sailors and civilian staff of the Royal Navy’s Marine and Aero Engineering school helped raise over £30,000 for 46 local charities, youth groups and organisations and naval charities such as Aggies, WRNSBT, RNBT, the RNRM Childrens’ Fund and the RNRMC – as well as of course ourselves.  Such support is vital to all charitable organisations – large or tiny and a donation in whatever form is never too small (or too big!).  Sailors have always been extremely generous to their affiliated charities and the WEA is immensely proud to have been chosen by HMS SULTAN Charities Committee to be a recipient of their annual fundraising efforts in 2018.  THANK YOU all.
